Collaboration--vision and non-negotiables

Collaboration is most welcome on this project!

What I envision:

  • Other writers or actors creating the characters and their backstories , adding in your creativity, telling stories you’ve always wanted to tell within the container of this framework: sustainability and population balancing
  • A variety of perspectives
  • We feel moved, inspired, eager, passionate, exhilarated, clear, camaraderie
  • I’d like to offer no-name actors a chance to give the performance of a lifetime
  • It’s about the team, not the star
  • It’s an us project, not a me project

Non-negotiables:

  • The kid has 10 adults raising her/involved in supporting her even if from a distance, for life committed to having zero additional children.  No fewer than 10 adults
  • I will only travel for this project by bicycle, electric train (east coast corridor), on foot, or by telecommunications.  (I don’t expect others to chang their behaviors, this is just me).  It takes about a month to bike across the country from Boston to LA.
  • Any portrayal of something as “sustainable” must actually be certainly sustainable as observable by direct sensory observation (e.g. using less electricity) vs. by mediated communication (the manufacturer says, “this solar panel is more sustainable than the grid so we can use as much electricity as you did before guilt-free”)
  • The characters move on their journey over ten years to under 10% the current US average footprint (to under 3000 lbs CO2 emissions per year and what energy usage that serves as a proxy for) or better
  • It is set in our world, not the far future
  • The collapse is mundane, not hyped or over-dramatized, neither in imagery nor scary music (except maybe for comic effect on occasion)

If you feel _inspired_ about this idea, even if you don't know how you can help, you can help!  please get in touch!
